DAVE MONTI
Dave is the founder and lead instructor for Urban Tactical USA. He has been serving as a full time police officer in the Sacramento area for the past 20 years and has a wealth of knowledge in tactical firearms training and its application. He has provided firearms training for civilians and LEO's from academy recruits to SWAT operators, as well as train the trainer courses. He holds several Ca. P.O.S.T. certifications including SWAT, Sniper, Weaponless Defense Instructor, Active Shooter Response Instructor, and Firearms Instructor for pistol, rifle and shotgun. Dave has written numerous Ca. P.O.S.T. certified courses in the use of patrol rifles, handguns, shotguns, and a 40 hour officer survival and tactics course. In addition to instructor certifications Dave is a rappelmaster and certified armorer for Sig pistols, Glock pistols, and the Colt AR rifle platforms.
He currently serves as a patrol officer, firearms instructor, and Sniper on the SWAT Team. Dave has held assignments in the Patrol Division, including Field Training Officer, Investigation Division, and the Training Division. During his career he served as a full time Department Range Master/ Lead Firearms Instructor, tasked with developing and instructing In-Service firearms training. He participated in Officer Involved Shooting reviews and debriefs which helped drive some of the firearms training he has developed.
Dave is a member of the National Tactical Officers Association (NTOA), California Association of Tactical Officers (CATO), International Association of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors (IALEFI), and the National Rifle Association (NRA).
